We just use the little cups so I honestly can't tell you. The more you concentrate it though, ie, less water, the stronger it is.
How do I make strong coffee?

- Boil the water
- Grind the beans, if your into that
- Strain the water through a sock (used for that "real cowboy" taste)
- Dump the coffee out, clean the mug, and get tea instead
