how do you break 1700 in either rapid or blitz?

i need to break it quick

This is quite a broad question, I might be able to help a little bit if you are looking for info on what openings will help you progress

You are already 1700 in both? Are you giving out tips? I will gladly take them.

I am not, I just study openings and test a lot to see which ones can possibly work, i am only 1200 rapid and high 900 blitz and bullet

honestly just play the game. its not that deep

Just work on your vision and stop playing once you get tilted

I break it every time I recover from a losing streak. The key is to focus on each game instead of my rating.

yeah same. It all just clicked, although I only crossed 1800 and then my rampage stopped (and that's when I turned my attention to bullet)

Im struggling to maintain 1700, keep falling down to high 1600's.

get back on that rapid grind and within a year or 2 you can get to 2000

but its like im going no where, with my rating going up a few points, then down a few points, and then staying the same, even though Im trying. So i dont know

yes, i am 1719 in blitz and 1713 in rapid, peak is 1756

idk how i got up there, i just got two good coaches and i got a good W streak, but I recently lost 40 rating and now idk

i thought it was a typo the first time. When you repeat it, I see that it is clear ignorance of the word.

I would say that a player rated 1000 in blitz has a lot of defects to correct before they should be setting a goal of 2000. Work on fundamentals, such as basic tactics.

Try learning new openings like the Sicilian and Italian and I would suggest watching ChessCoach Andras for positional ideas. Also do ChessTempo puzzles whenever you got free time for chess but not enough time for a 10 minute rapid game.
