How do you memorize openings?

I memorize openings by playing the positions over and over again and I see some sort of pattern, like many queens gambit positions have the same set-up, and many sicilian dragons have a Be3 f3 Qd2 for white or a fianchetto, castling, and developing for black. But I can't seem to memorize other openings and like specific lines and I've seen that titled players are able to do this very well. Is it just practice?

yeah, just practice. I just can't count how many games I've played with the Catalan.
