a gm title? 2900+ fide?
How good can we can reach in chess?

Grandmaster is the highest title, a super grand master(unofficial title) is a grandmaster with a rating above 2750, and the World Chess Champion is greatest human chess player in the current era. These are all the landmark chess titles that are present. None of us are making it there though.

@TheChitownrook he asked how far we can go. maybe we can go farther than magnus
How old are you? If you are below 10 maybe you could.

Stop crushing other's hopes as you are only 1500 so how would you know?

In a different direction there is also the level A International Arbiter title.
being an Arbiter is better than being GM trust
Let me rephrase that...
Specifically, how are ratings actually determined ? Obviously and Theoretically there could be no limit to one's rating, provided time were to continue toward infinity....but simply who is calculating ratings, and just what criteria are considered in determining a rating?
Granted...but I think that is obvious to all of us....
Surely, someone understands... The question is how are ratings calculated?

a gm title? 2900+ fide?
GM is 2500+ FIDE, nobody is at 2900
Well, if you're talking about FIDE, then yes.
But if it's online, there are some GMs who have 2900+ rating in faster time control settings like bullet, blitz or even rapid.
Brilliant !!! Thank you for that answer....
That addresses my question and gives me more basis sto understand the rating of a GM and also opens up the discussion for a differential on the different time control settings that factor into ones rating
So, that brings me to a related question and that is with the online programs like Chess.com, for example, are they proportionate too or all in sync with the other online chess and table chess? Or has this not yet occurred and something we will potentially see in the upcoming future? From a visionary prospective, it appears that at some point in the future the scales may come to some synchronized or universal standard that enables all players regardless of what system, to be able to determine one's rating in relation to the whole world wide chess community?
