Hello Guys.

We got another TVC Match challenge from The Unit and i was a little concerned about accepting as we have 3 matches ongoing and our team is only 29 Strong.

How many TVC Matches would the regulars feel comfortable with ?

I think 3 is reaching the max for a team of 29 BUT maybe some of you feel this is way too little a number !

How Many TVC Matches to have ongoing guys?

Shall we accept and kick some butt !! lol

it's ok. i am thinking if we can assign a team leader/captain in each TVC so we can get more matches. for as long as there is a team captain for a particular game, i think we are okay.

I like the Team Leader per Match idea Sollevy10.

My concern is that peeps in the Group may get a little overbeared with 10+ matches and we will end up with a team captain and maybe one other in some matches as the numbers of matches grows.

sollevy10

okay, it's your call actually but if you are asking me, 10 maximum at any given time is just okay, plus one celebrity guest TVC.

I think a maximum of 10 TVC matches is a good number for a team of our size..i would prefer maybe 5 or 6 but as so far we have only our two feedback its difficult to get a feeling to what peeps may be comfy with.

I am going to accept a VTC challenge we had earlier for a Smith Morra Gambit in the Scicilian and i believe you have one or two in the pipeline i thinks Sollevy.

We will be able to guage the amount of interest for more games by the amount of members joining up over the next 3 or 4 matches.

Any feedback welcome Guys.

DrChess said he can handle that for the group as the team leader. If we can also get one titled player to handle one tvc match for us as a celebrity guest - a feature TVC for the group. It's a game where the objective of team members is to learn from the titled guest, interact, make suggestions and ask questions. do you know anyone?

Hi Guys!

I'm just speaking for myself and as sollsvy10 already knows, I like to take each game I play very seriously because I try to get the maximum learning out of all of them. Gambits are especially fun but especially complex too, given that the burden of proof is on the gambiteer. Right now, 10 TVC matches might be a bit much for our small group. Maybe 5 at most - just until we have more members?

sollevy10

five is fine with me.

Cheers for the feedback guys.

Hello cats_dougs.

I am not sure how the team captaincy for an individual TVC Match works. It was sollevy10's baby :)

Do we give cats_dougs a match to captain or do we ask her which Gambit she would like to play and try and get one against another team?

Please help me figure it Sollevy , i am a floundering fishy !

sollevy10

as a team captain, it will be your responsibility to moderate discussions. ensure balance participation, motivate friendly exchange of ideas, remind members of the proper tone of their messages and post the vote now sign.

in gambit lines, we call our team captain a team leader, because aside from the above captain's roles, the team leader must have sufficient understanding and knowledge of the various variations in the opening. therefore, the team leader must endeavor to find references for the opening, study the references to be able to answer questions from members, and provide analysis for each move.

if you feel you are qualified for this role, we encourage you to participate in our current matches so we would be able to interact with you and get the chance to know the members of the group.

then when you feel ready, please ask our SA to set up a game for you.

There you go cats_dougs and all .

Thankyou Sollevy10 :)

5 matches seems like plenty.  I can only commit to a couple as I play with many teams and am like dr chess, I like to actually study the games I play in, meaning less time for other games.
