How much time should each phase last?

I've been getting feedback on how long each phase should last, so I would like to take a poll to get everyone's input. You can fill out the survey by going here.

So far, each phase lasts 60 days, but is 60 days to long to be focusing solely on doing tactics study? Or is 30 days more suitable, but is 30 days it enough time to improve?

tactics is one  of the easiest ways for a non master players to improve. I would think doing a little bit tactics every week at the same time doing the extreme training for 30-60 days in areas like openings, postional play, endgames stuff like that.

To me it seems bad to go without tactics for 30-90 days.

One thing I've noticed that has help me improve a lot is doing tactic puzzles on a site like chesstempo for about 30 mins the day of a tournament. My mind just seems more aware of them during the tournament.

@chaosdreamer Thanks for the response. The idea is to focus on tactics during the first phase, but while doing phase II(endgame) and III (strategy) there will always be a 15 minute tactics 'warm-up' which will carry through the entire program. During the endgame phase, there will also be an endgame tactics module, which will also reinforce tactical patterns.

Thanks to all who have responded on how long each phase should take. If you haven't already done so you can fill out the survey here:

I'll post the results of the survey in a few days.

Ahh, that sounds great! There are a lot of days when I barly manage to squeeze in about 15 minutes of tactics!

The consensus was that each phase should last 15 days. I'm currently on the 2nd week of doing phase II which is the endgame phase after completing 15 days of tactics. Next week I begin 15 days of strategy study, and then back to Phase I.

I'm sprinkling in tactics training in between Phase II and Phase III just to keep the tactics sharp, which I agree are critical at the lower levels.
