How to avoid non fair negotiations

All time slots of each team should be fixed in the beginning of season. So after on each round both teams already know that starting time will be fare to both teams if they have not agreed on starting time.

Every team fix their working day and weekend day.
Mark public holidays when they can not play during the 2018. On that day no games scheduled.

For example Standard Workday Monday-Friday (Local time):
19h- 24h Available time
Weekend Saturday-Sunday(Local time) 14hours
10h-24h Available time

Timeslots for three teams Alpha-Beta-Gamma:
Team Alpha is GMT+6
Workday in GMT 5 hours: Between 13h - 18h gmt Available time
Weekend 14 hours: Between 04h - 18h gmt Available time

Team Beta is GMT+3
Workday in GMT 5 hours: Between 16h - 21h gmt Available time
Weekend 14 hours: Between 07h - 21h gmt Available time

Team Gamma is GMT-5
Workday in GMT 5 hours: Between 24h - 05h+1day gmt Available time
Weekend 14 hours: Between 15h - 05h+1day gmt Available time

Example of matches:

Alpha vs Beta
if they play on weekday we choose their available time and use average : Between 16h - 18h gmt(starting time~19h)
if they play on weekend we choose :Between 07h - 18h gmt(starting time~12:30h gmt)

Alpha vs Gamma
if they play on weekday we choose their available time and use average :Not possible
if they play on weekend we choose :Between 15h -18h(starting time~16:30h) or 04h - 05h(starting time~04h)

@krypton00 playing 00:00 is too hard in real life. 22:30 local time must be the range.

P.S. We can use your method for preview the schedule. If it will be ok for all teams, then we can use it in the league.

Agree, but I have mentioned between, not as a starting time 00-00. So starting  time should be earlier of course, to be able to finish match before 00-00.

I must confess I haven't been really focusing on this problem yet, but my thoughts are that is quite difficult to imagine a totally automatic external impersonal system to decide when teams will play.

Two ideas only:

- idea number one: given a preset schedule, all negotiations are made at the beginning of the season (then we have 'LCWL Negotiation Day')

- idea number two: every team publicizes a standard time (day/hour) and the opponent team has the oèption to 'grab' that standard time, or chose to negotiate.

This could also lead to having some kind of Home and Away type of matches...

I think we should use step by step in one day after we will get parings:

1. @bumiputra 's idea #2

2. @bumiputra 's idea #1

3. @krypton00 method

@bumiputra: Surely your idea number two is basically what we've been doing, just with the first offer formalised to a standard time (which is what many teams have been doing anyway)?

Idea number one is what I feel will be best, although you are asking teams to schedule a match for a precise time 2 months away, I feel that might be a bit difficult. Maybe just focusing on 3 weeks in advance would be fine.

Maybe each team publishes their preferred match times (should they have one). If both teams have overlapping times, then the match is played in that time. If not, then negotiations go on as normal. I don't like the idea of taking an average time, as it could lead to the resulting time preferring one team much more over another (and could result in teams attempting to manipulate their times in order to turn this in their favour).

@ThomasJEvans, lets  try the "LCWL Negotiation Day". All we need is parings..

Could always try the negotiation day, and then for matches that are not finalised, do them later on.

You are missing my point. When each team set their available time once in the beginning we have not option to manipulate and change it for every match. It will be one available time for the whole season, and it will be used in every game.

We do not change available time from one game to another. No need to cheating. It will be impossible.

All teams will just use open time slots, that anyway is going during negotiations, but in a fair way. It is not just average time that will be inconvenient to both teams. It is a fair time.

We do not need negotiation day, we just need to know availble time of our team.  We know for our team  when we can play matches for everyday.

Guys,

Can we clarify what are the 2 or 3 proposals to address this issue? With that, I suggest we move quickly to a conclusion.
