How to Improve Elo (and maintain it!)
As long as you learn stuff like endgames and openings, and you don't forget what you learned, your elo probably won't go down. You might get tilted, but after a few days, you will be able to get back to you original playing level.
how are you 1300 OTB but 750 Chess.com? I'm 851 OTB but 1869 Chess.com
that's insane. i am 1100 peak OTB sitting at 1050 OTB RN and only peaked at around 1200 chess.com, this is a newer account btw. I went to my first tournament in Orlando Last July and played in the lowest section U1200 and the highest OTB rated player 1175 was only 1650 chess.com, he was a 9 year old who got second place that i actually drew against! I asked other players and it was similar around 1500-1600 chess.com and they were all atleast 1000 OTB so you might just need to practice more with a board in front of you, try setting up puzzles from chess.com on a chess board and running through all of the possible lines and just visualize it on a board because it might sound crazy but chess online and chess OTB are two different yet similar games. Best of luck to you though man i bet your OTB rating will skyrocket soon!

"Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share the progress of one of my students with you. He had been working hard using Chessable and watching YouTube videos to improve his chess skills, but his progress really took off when he started working with a coach. With 20 years of experience, the coach was able to provide him with the proper guidance and insights, which greatly accelerated his progress.
Here's the link to his progress: https://lichess.org/@/FireB11/perf/rapid.
Invest in a chess coach and watch the progress.
One of my students messaged me to share their progress. He started as a beginner three months ago.
YES! 1101!!! Thanks for noticing. And last night I beat my father-in-law two games in a row, which was one of the main reasons I started getting coached in the first place. Now I just have to beat my brother-in-law!
Please contact me if you would like to hear more dpolimac@gmail.com
Thank you for your attention."

Hi, I am an around 750-elo chess player. I would like to know how to gain more elo and stay there. How do you also play when you're brain is turning into mush? (and how to play under pressure) Whenever I go over 800, I lose the matches because I feel intimated and then I am not on my top game. I know I can do better, because in irl matches I am rated around 1300. How do you also consistently win matches in 800? Do you recommend any strategies or training? Thank you so much if you could respond!
Cover up their rating, don't look at it. This helps you feel not intimidated, but also allows you to focus on your game. Even if you choose not to do this, you shouldn't be bothered because if you focus your whole mind will be on the game, not the player.

Don't try to improve ELO, work on your skill in the game. Read some books on pawn structure, endgame and middle game strategies, and get proficient on one or two openings from books on those openings. When your game improves, your ELO will follow.

JUST ATTACK AND GO ALL OUT AND IF YOU CREATE A VERY BIG ATTACK IT WILL MOST LIKELY COST YOUR OPPONENT THE ENTIRE GAME https://www.chess.com/analysis/game/live/96586698843?tab=review&move=42 try looking at this game I just played it today I was attacking a lot

its not free elo to never resign because lets say you blunder a piece there is a very high chance that ur opponent will win the game so it isn't free elo also sometimes it is best to resign

I like that

Ik this was 3 days ago but another way that I haven't seen many people list, is taking a break. A week long break helps and another idea is checking your attitude. When u play do u feel like ur just playing game after game with no emotion? For me that happens so I take a break for a solid week and a half and then I set a goal. "Ok im at 700 lets get to 750" and when you focus on the goal and u put ur determination into the matches and u tell urself "I cant lose or I'll go down," then for some reason it works👍. So brain break and a good mindset👍
