Crushing the Fried Liver Attack - Chess.com

Try the ulvestad variation, 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. Ng5 d5 5. exd5 b5

FlyingTurtle11

Try the traxler

On a unsuspecting low elo player, Nxe4 is a very interesting move for move 4. If your opponent takes the f7 pawn with the knight Qh4. If your opponent castles, you keep going by taking the f2 pawn with the knight and then follow with bc5. Gotham has a video on it some where.

I stopped playing the fried liver because of the traxler.

As black, I wouldn't even go into the fried liver...

Personally I just play Bc4, the Guicco Piano, instrad of Nc6.

As black, just use Traxler counter-attack. After e4, e5, Nf3, Nc6, Bc4, Nf6, Ng5, Bc5, Nxf7, Bxf2+. Kxf2, Nxe4+, there's a trap. After Ke1, which is a big blunder (but its very common), there is like a 90% chance you can mate or win white's king after Qh4+.

SavaggeOne

Play the Ponziani-Steinitz gambit. Watch Gotham's video on it.

Play the Caro-Kann, avoid the stupid double king's pawn
