How to stay focused in a chess game

Im assuming its OTB. Refrain from getting up when it's not your move unless you need to go to the bathroom or something (go before the game!) Make sure you keep reminding yourself to not look at the game beside yours, the outcome of that game only matters after your done with your own game. Try and have a general idea of what your going to try to do in the position and try and focus on what your opponent can do and what your next few moves will be.

Personally when I'm at OTB games I will walk around almost the entire time when it's not my move. With my ADHD it is easy to get distracted at the board if I don't also give myself an environment to be distracted. I try to find a location where I can sit and relax a little bit while my opponent is taking a long time thinking, but still be able to see my board so I can tell when they make a move. It works for me, but I don't know what it's like for others who don't have ADHD.
Hello! Sorry to disturb but I got an open tournament tomorrow and I really need tips on how to stay focused during a game since I often find my mind drifting off after opening and middle game. I need ways to keep my mind focused on the game and keep myself keep thinking about moves even if it's not my move.
