I built a free tool to scout your opponents before a game - feedback welcome

Will check this out later when I have time. How does it compare to something like openingtree?

Avatar of Rujinik

Thanks @ninjaswat - Great question! OpeningTree and Chess Stalker have different focuses:
OpeningTree is great for exploring opening repertoires and seeing move frequencies in a tree format. It’s more about “what does this player play?”
Chess Stalker also include it but it goes deeper into the psychological and weakness analysis:
∙ Stalker Score (exploitability rating)
∙ Psychological profile
∙ Specific recommendations on HOW to beat them
∙ Time trouble tendencies
Think of it as: OpeningTree = what they play, Chess Stalker = what they play and how to beat them.

I would say that just test it and let me know. Happy to heard you feedback and include new features.

Cheers!

Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a side project called ChessStalker (ChessStalker dot com ) - a free tool that analyzes any player’s psychological patterns and exploitable weaknesses.)
What it does:
∙ Detects opening weaknesses (and which lines to avoid)
∙ Analyzes time management habits (do they flag often? when?)
∙ Measures tilt tendency (how they perform after losses)
∙ Shows their best/worst hours and days to play
∙ Generates a “Stalker Score” rating how predictable they are

Why I built it:
I wanted something beyond basic stats - actual preparation advice like “this player crumbles after losing game 1” or “avoid the Caro-Kann, they win 70% there.”

Would love feedback from the community - what’s useful, what’s missing, what’s broken?
Try analyzing yourself or your opponents!!

Thanks in advance
Best Regards

Woah!, Thanks for that, It's really awesome!, Could use for my friends, Now, I am winning and barely losing any matches! Thanks Buddy!

@Tirex300 Thanks! Built it because I got tired of just seeing “what openings my opponent plays” - I wanted to know how to beat them. Opening trees exist everywhere, but nobody was telling you things like “this guy collapses under time pressure” or “he always blunders in the endgame.”
Started as a side project, launched it about a week ago. It’s fully independent - no VC, no corporate backing, just me building what I wish existed as a player.

Hello,
I think it’s a great project and I’d be delighted to contribute to it. Is the code open source?

Avatar of Rujinik

Hello! Glad you like the project! It's currently closed source since I'm in the early stage and stabilizing the core logic.

I might open-source some specific libraries or UI components in the future, but for now, the repo remains private. If you spot any bugs or have feature requests, please let me know here or privately !

Chess Stalker v2.5 is out - biggest update since launch.

One month of work focused on analysis depth. The tool now digs deeper into your opponent's games to find exploitable patterns - opening weaknesses, tendencies under pressure, lines where they struggle.

Player Card completely reworked with sharper insights. Stalker Score recalculated to better detect truly exploitable players vs simply consistent ones. Opening detection goes further into sub-variants and specific lines.

Cleaner visuals too - better layouts, improved game modals. More data, less noise.

Hope you enjoy it

Hey!

Quick update - v3.0 is now live with most of the features people requested:

🔍 Self-Analysis - Analyze your OWN profile, not just opponents. Find your weaknesses.

🤖 Twin Bot - Practice against a bot that mimics any player's real repertoire and style

📊 Smarter Metrics - Rebuilt from scratch. Fixed the weird results some of you reported.

🎯 Smart Repertoire - Better opening detection and pattern recognition

⚡ In-Browser Stockfish - Accuracy scores and move classifications

✨ New UI - Cleaner design, better mobile experience

🌍 10 Languages - Including Korean (just trending there!)

🏆 11M+ FIDE OTB games indexed

Still 100% free, no account needed.

💚 PRO waitlist open - Not trying to get rich, just need help covering server costs as traffic grows. Early supporters lock in a discount forever.

Bugs or ideas? info@chessstalker.com

Cheers! David

Sorry, I missed your message. Still not open source - Actually it took me almost 5 months this version (and another 2 the one that will be released on March - really powerful) We can talk if you are interested in How I coged it
