wow
I destroyed a 1700!

I thought 1300 were bad at tactics but I was wrong
Thanks! Honestly, I used to be 1480 at my peak but then lost a lot of Elo, so my rating has been improving so far on this long car ride where I'm binging playing Chess.
I don't want to offend anyone, but most other 1300s I've seen don't do as many puzzles as me, and I also played way better than I usually do this match so it's likely at least somewhat a fluke. Plus, the things I said in the original post. And by the way, embarrassingly enough, the tactic where I sacrificed a piece to pin his queen to his king was originally (I thought) a blunder until after he had taken and I found the tactic.
Anyways, thanks a lot for your comments! They put a smile on my face!
PS. This was blitz.

and did you play 1. e5 by accident? great game btw. your opponents mistakes the blundered the game away were probably c3 and g3 in my opinion, and you capitalized brilliantly.

Yeah, it was a premove lol. Anyways, thanks for your commentary and feedback! I agree that both of those moves were errors; Instead of c3 where he gave me a pawn, he probably should have played something like Bg3 to attack my knight and better defend against the checkmate threat.
G3 was a massive mistake because it let me rook sac to fork the king and queen. That definitely won me the match.

I could be wrong but when you played rxb3 on move 22 was that mate if you were to play Qxg2?
Unfortunately, Bxg2 would have stopped that.

Ah, my apologies. I would have blundered my queen LOL

It happens. There's a reason why people invented the term Botez Gambit.
What a game, I've been looking back on the games I played recently to see what tactics I missed so that I can eventually make a blog using them, and I feel like a lot of that effort really helped me find some cool ideas here.
(I have the black pieces)
