I finally played some normal opening (Austrian attack)

10+0 rapid. My extreme positional style seems to have defanged my attacking play quite a bit.

"Black admits his earlier mistake and fixes his queen placement" made me chuckle for some reason

And I swear that although it is clear in the book how black should counter the Austrian, I have actually yet to see the few people that have tried out the Pirc against me to do that (c5)!

I recall a certain St. Louis chess club video with GM Yasser Seirawan that explained how to play those c5 lines. very complicated stuff with qa5 and all the attacking potential

Also I might note that blacks 6...c6 is a pretty good mistake. In a similar defense, the pribyl Pirc (e4 d6 d4 Nf6 Nc3 c6!? f4) IM Sam Collins writes that ...g6 would be a bad move because both of blacks typical pawn breaks, c5 and e5, have both been frustrated, which is why Qa5 is best. However, after blacks sixth move in the game, we’ve reached basically that exact same position... but with g6 played, which can’t be good.
