I need Help!

Basically, i want to be a  Chess Gm but my parent think i want to be a doctor (i don't like science so  much) how do I convince them 

Just tell them the truth parents will support u no matter what what's wrong with having a smart kid who wants to be dominant in chess, but the best why to express it is to just say that that is just what you want to do.

Honestly, if I were in your shoes I would be a doctor. It’s quite hard to be a GM. Also, accidentally losing games might lead to losing a bunch of money in the future, while as a doctor you consistently earn money. But choosing jobs are your choice! Good luck! 😉

It might be hard to be a GM, but isn't it just the same for a doctor. Matter of fact it's hard to do any job you never know what happends. Life isn't easy, but when it gets hard you just push through it, and make it the best it can be.

Yeah I know It's hard, just like when a Doctor isn't, able to save everyone that comes to the hospital, or a pilot isn't able to fly the best everytime, or if someone doesn't pass their driver's test the first time. It doesn't matter what problems you come across it matters how you try to solve them.

GM is not easy. I'm only 10 and I haven't tried science yet, but i can tell you from experience (I'm 2050 USCF) that GM is very hard.

Well if you really study then it doesn't matter what's hard or not people said that no one would be able to get to the moon, but they did it, and that is the hardest science ever astromestry. people said that segregation wasn't going to end, but thanks to Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa parks, Harriet, and many more black avocates they did.

Its not just that GM is hard... Its also the fact that you cant live off of being a GM, unless you're coaching

You have to be like 2650+ in order to make a living off of playing, otherwise you have to coach people, which may not be what you're trying to do.

So, I'd say become a doctor and pursue chess on the side. Maybe GM won't be possible, but you can at least get FM or maybe even IM.

Well who say's that you can't do both it's possible you just don't have to be a GM, and you just don't have to be a doctor you can have many dreams, and accomlishments in life. I want to be a mechanical engineer, but I also want to be a youtuber a youtuber might no be a lot of money, but with the money added with the mechanical engineer it makes it suitable for me also I want to be a singer, and I am in Chorale so when I go to Collage I can have degree in music.

I don't understand but why you want to become a GM . GM is hard to become but doctor is not .

Doctor is better than GM because you can earn money and save lives .If you have charity than you can do some free for people who can't afford so much money. Not only doctor , you can do something in which you thing that you are good in that . I say that better you listen to your parents because they always think good for you. Now it depends on you . Whatever you become but your parents will support you . Whatever you become all the best from my side .
