Well i am FIDE registered and i played my first tournament like a month ago and even the matches are registered but i still don't have an elo. Anyone knows how much it takes to register the games and calculate an elo rating? It can't be that long man, surely.

They do it in the first (sometimes gets delayed to the 2nd) of each month, although there are some requirments. (score at least .5 points and play against at least 5 players that are already rated)

Its 5 games agaist people who already have concrete ratings. If 4 of the people didn't have ratings or had played less than 5 games themselves, they don't count

btw iam 9 any tips

I am 10 and got my FIDE Registration in May/June...

We were in India and my FIDE came as 1578 and I dropped to 1444 in like 2 months... But I improved a lot in August/September so I went up to 1484. And then we came to Canada so so I am crushing everyone : ) - and in 1 month from 1484 it's 1612 - soon to be 1650 or something. But My last tournament was trash... 😭😭😭 (2.5/6 and lost like 18 rating points)

As for the tips, here:

1. Play A LOT of OTB - It's important to have experience. And by a lot I mean try to play a tournament every month, but keep track of your money.

2. (If you are in India) Not many can like we did but if you can come to one of the western countries (USA/Canada etc) it would help. - Indian 1500s (With Experience) are like 1650 or 1700 in Canada. (My coach AND My Dad says my strength is around 1850 🤔 but my Dad has been saying it before I even Started OTB 🤔).

And I have more but again I'm only 10 and I'm not a coach so I dont wanna give like wrong info or something.

The first 2 though are important - I know that. But the 2nd one is Not something you HAVE TO DO - It's only if your parents have money and are fine with it. Also it'd be better if you played your first few tournaments in India (Assuming you are in India) and then come here.

I have never played in any OTB tournaments. But can you guess that what could be my FIDE rating according to you? I am just curious. My rapid rating on Chess.com is 1900.

1700 FIDE

You do not know how fide works
