Vote chess questions-

couple of questions. i play on about 30 vote chess games at a time with about 6 different teams, most all have a couple of standard "rules" for lack of better term, first- will we have a team captain who leads the vote games? second - what do you have in mind as far as voting time, usually the rule of thumb is to hold off early voting till moves are discussed usually till at half way to time up and less, 24 hr games dont vote till  12 hr, 48 hr games dont vote till 24 hr mark ect. of course obvious moves wont require  a long discussion but middle game is where team work is important. thoughts? i also offer up this handy dandy little guide that has been adopted in a lot of teams, i didnt origanally create the initial concept, but I did modify and rewrote a lot of it. vote chess guide

So what is the normal time per move on vote chess?

do you want everyone to just vote whatever they want, whenever they want, or do you want to have discussions on what move to make and no one votes till a certain time has passed

I personally found 48 hr per move the prefered pace by a majority of dedicated vote chess players like myself.  once your team is over a 150 to 200 members then you will want to add a few shorter 24 hr , and longer 72 hr move games. the very fast 12 hr and less games are going to require a group of dedicated players. unless you plan on babysitting each game and voting every move these fast ones usually time out.

really it all depends on if you want your team to eventually enter Vote chess Leagues, if they are just for fun, it's all no biggie, but if you plan on playing with the big dogs, it is a lot of work, the Vote chess community is a whole world of its own.

I definatley want us to be up there. I'm taking the group very seriously and so are the other admins, and I'm sure you are too. You have alot of experiance, so what would you reccomend?

Right now I really just wanna play a decent amount of games, get a decent win/loss ratio while getting better and communicating. Plus trying to get players to join those games.

How would you suggest us to get lots of games? Are there any groups you think we can challenge, or should we just put up some open seeks?

I would wait till this one gets going, Vote chess usually has a very low active player roster, most join and then forget to play, see how participation is before creating any more. i got groups that have 800 plus members and only 8 or 10 members play vote chess  games regularly, & I got a group that has 14 members and all play in most every game.

u need to find out wat ppl want from chess then incorprate ddat into the group... like i want to play lots of long time control or coresppondan wit ppl or do tactic sesion or sumthin...
