With 1200 rating you probably overrate yourself a bit when saying you are "fantastic player". Also if someone blocks you, he cant get you as opponent as well, not only as partner. Which is sometimes undesirable.

Because in 1700 to 2500 there are approximately I think 300 200 players even less
And not everyone plays at the same hours
At the same time no more than 15 players play and the majority are players who play a lot
So tsarkov is absolutely right

Pretty sure I've heard of people getting blocked players as partners and opponents. It's another Cheez.com bug.
Of course, I could win lots of Swisses if I simply blocked all the strong players. 7-0, here we go!
I block people with reckless abandon. I bet you are a fantastic guy and this isn't personal but I will add you to my block list in accordance with your request.

My strategy: I block the people that are not on voice, the people that insult me, and the people that don't want to play with me and they just resign when games start (I wish they could block me instead, but well).
When seeking takes too long, or I find a partner I just unblock everyone, click click click.
I think this is a good method, better than not blocking, or blocking only a few, or not playing with a lot of people just because we blocked them once.

What's really annoying is that half of the people in the world don't know about this type of chess
If everyone knew about it a lot more people would play it
