Nxg6? If Bxg6, take R with check, Kh7, Rxh8+, Kxh8, Qh6, Bh7, Qg7#

If fxg6, R1xc2 wins back the minor piece as well as the R in some lines after Ra8 (for example), Qxg6, Kf8, Qg7, Ke8, Qxh8. However, black saves the R with Kf7

That's what I played. But instead of Black playing Kf7, they played Rxc2 and lost (but I didn't have time to finish and I lost)

Ouch, it really does hurt in positions like that. You are an incredibly incredibly strong player though, so don't start feeling bad about yourself (and of course be happy where you are so far while you set aims to reach higher rating/strength)

I mean I spent quite a lot of time calculating that puzzle (I think it was 2 mins at least to 2.5 mins) so it is very much a tricky position
