Ignore most of the above. Few of the answers make much sense.

Your question is missing the most basic of information. What are your chess goals?

If your chess goal isn't to be a GM or IM, then your rating can be just about whatever you want by 12. Especially if you are just starting out.

If you want a title, specifically IM or GM, then you probably want to be about 1500-1600 rated by the time you're 15. This allows you to reach about 2400 by your early 20's latest and gives you some time to hit 2500 and get your norms. That's if you're trying to get to GM on a "normally" paced track. If you want it faster just squeeze those numbers tighter.

Incidentally, there are plenty of Youtube videos about players that are older than you that got from zero to 2000 (roughly) Rapid (chess.com) rating. That's about 1800-1900 FIDE depending on who you ask. I suggest this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQ9gkF840Vk

and this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCBGNjddiTE

Incidentally, this kind of growth was virtually impossible in the past because we didn't have the learning tools that are available today. If you follow the above videos (and what they recommend) you should be fine. Getting better at chess really is becoming a science at this point. There's still an art to it, but you can't deny the benefits of doing the basics.

Incidentally, I recommend the above videos but not per se the channels. I've only watched those two videos (from the creators) and found them the best on the topic of quick online Rapid growth (Rapid growth mirrors OTB and FIDE Classical growth the best).

Cheers.
