Improving at a higher level
JannLee Crazyhouse channel on Youtube. He hasn't been active in a few months, but he's been in the 2700 ballpark since about 2002 and does great instructional videos.
Opening explorer on "that other site" is handy for deep opening theory studies. Huge catalog of top-end games, and you can filter your results for the strength you view as appropriate for your skill level.
Analyze games against strong players after you finish one. See where you did well, see where you went wrong.
Play longer games. 1 0 won't teach you much beyond flagging.
Go over the crazyhouse world championships from 2021. Tons of strong games in there, even in the preliminary rounds. I think to keep the quality up they expected some minimum rating standard (average of current rating and best rating over X or something).
Play in the 3 0 tournaments here to get in some reps. Some strong-ish players show up for those from time to time. They'll dominate the field, but you can usually find a fairly strong game or two out of ten there.
I'm around 2000 in crazyhouse, and I was wondering how to improve at that level. There aren't really any crazyhouse resources out there so it's really hard to get better. Do any higher rated players here have any tips or general advice for improving at around this level?
Thanks.
