Internal Tournament (for Chessoholics only)

Hi there.

I suggest to create and manage a tournament for all chessoholics members. To be more precise, two tournaments for two level ranges.

I suggest these parameters :

- 3 days per move
- group size 6
- advance 2
- 1 simultaneous game per opponent, that means 5 in total

I think it's impossible to create a tournament reserved for a group/team, so I have to send personal invitations.

If you are interested, reply here or send me a message, and I will note your nickname. I will send you an invitation as soon as the tournament is created.

If you have some comments/ideas about the tournament, just suggest here !

And for the rating ranges, I will see later (certainly split the player list into two equal-sized lists).

For me it's not a problem 2 games simultaneous (I play 60 games simultaneous lol) but maybe it's not ok for everybody ?

but no rating restrictions. (if we make 2 tournaments, there will be one for " < xxxx " and one for " > xxxx " where "xxxx" is not fixed at the moment.

I am also interested, and Zeil, i believe there isn't a way out of that unless you resign one, which isn't good. I might be wrong, hopefully someone else knows for sure.

Zeil you may play as many Chess.com official tournaments as you like but unfortunately, you are allowed to play only one unofficial (including "invite only" tournaments), i.e. created by a member and not the staff. 

I'm sorry, I have no solution for this problem except the following : We can create a tournament without the official way, that means starting games manually, and report the results on the forum ... and calculating ourselves the points and the tie break.

lol. no it will just be work, and some of us have that already. Well I could do it if need be, but I think the thrill is being IN a tournament, not playing games and putting in the numbers. I know we're trying to make it work for everyone, maybe we can petition the idea to chess.com: allow internal tournament games and possibly not have them included in the limits of how many tournaments one can play- they apparently listen to new ideas frequently- hey, you never know?

jc4hokies - It is the combined score of the players you beat and half of the combined score of the players you draw.

For example, if I beat players who scored 4 6 and 3, and I draw players who scored 2 and 3, my tiebreak would be 4 + 6 + 3 + 1 + 1.5 = 15.5
