Ok everyone, the club is approaching 90 members, so let's get some introductions in.

  • Give your username (and real name if you would like) and current rating of your preferred time control
  • Part of the world you are from
  • Time-zone
  • Chessnut board you have
  • Preferred time controls

I will start:

  • rsava (Richard Sava), rating in Rapid is 1380 but that is high ...
  • US (Central Florida)
  • Eastern Time Zone, currently EDT (UTC -4)
  • I have the Air, the Evo, and the Pro with Premium pieces, with a Go on order
  • I prefer longer games, 30+30 or longer. I will play 15+10 on occasion.

Let's here from all of you.

Look for an announcement about a tournament or two coming your way soon.

OnDaChow1188 current rapid rating is 801 Highest 1159

US (New York)

I have the Air. Thinking about the Go.

I play 30 minute games and 15 +10 also stopped playing for some time and just recently started playing again. Really enjoying playing with the Air. Goal is to play more and get back up to 1200 by Dec. Started doing chessable courses also.

TheGreyCount, current Rapid is 890, I've been away from chess and are plummeting down...

From Stockholm, Sweden

Central European Time (UTC +2)

I have the Air+, the Pro and the Evo, thinking about the Go.

I prefer longer time-controls, but can play any Rapid really.

Robinplaysgames, Rapid bouncing around 600

Michigan, USA

Eastern USA Time

I have the Air, Pro, and have the Go on order. I had the Evo, but it doesn't fit my use case, so I gave it to my nephews.

I do Rapid 15+10, usually.

I'm synthese, also known as Harry, hailing from Germany (UTC+2). On chess.com, my rapid rating is 1089, and I also enjoy playing on lichess. My preferred game format is 30+0, and I use a Chessnut Evo for my matches. I'm passionate about all types of e-boards, dedicated chess computers, and various online chess topics.

For those of you with the Pro, how's the quality of the board and pieces? My Air+ is so-so I would say and my first impression was that of disappointment. The colour of the black squares had bled into the white squares and I was almost about to send it back, still might

I don't have the Air+, but my Pro is top notch quality.

I have had it for 3 months now and I have not had any issues, board, colors, pieces - all fantastic.

When you say "black squares" are you talking about the brown wood color is bleeding into the light wood squares?

Have you reached out to Chessnut support - contact@chessnutech.com

Yes, exactly, the brown wood color is bleeding into the light wood squares. I've since reached out to customer service and I might have been a bit nitpicky so I'm keeping the Air+, actually I've just got the Pro today (26th) and it is wonderful!

Hi, my username is JuliusBjornsson, which, coincidentally is my name as well😂 I play from Denmark, CET (now CEST or GMT+2)

I haven’t played much rapid so far on chess.com, but my current rating is 1849. I also play on Lichess.
I own Chessnut Air and Pro and I have ordered Go as well. I normally play 15+10, but longer formats are fine by me as well.

Hi everyone.

1. My username is TortellinoGambit
2. My current rating is approximately 1250 rapid, 1450 daily, 1430 fide standard. Talking about chessnut matches, I do not play often, especially here, prefering lichess that has "classical game" mode (30 minutes or more).
3. I am from Italy
4. My time zone is CET
5. I have a Chessnut Pro.
6. For using Chessnut for me it is necessary a 45' game

The quality is high. But I made a mistake. I left the chessboard with the pieces on it, in front of a window, without playing for a couple of months. The sun changed the colours of the chessboard, ... but not where there was the piece :-( Now I am exposing the chessboard to the sun without the pieces, hoping that the colours differences will gradually disappear.

The Chessnut Go is a pretty good board/set.

I very rarely use the app for any of my Chessnut boards, I prefer to play games with the Chessconnect extension created by a chess[]com member @joernupbde. You can find information about it here:

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-equipment/chessconnect-a-chrome-extension-for-chessnut-air-and-chessnut-pro-smartboards

Understand that the Chessnut Go is a travel board and so it is small. It is a bit heavier than you might expect because while the board is thin it is very solid. The carry case for it holds everything nicely and can easily fit in a carry-on suitcase or backpack.

Chess[]com member @vitualis has some excellent videos featuring the Chessnut Go (all of his videos are well done and fun to watch. You can find them here:

https://www.chess.com/blog/vitualis?page=2

Let us know if you have specific questions about that board or any of the other Chessnut boards (I own 4 of them).
