My name is Tanner Feemster and I live up in Bellingham. I travel occasionally to play USCF at the Seattle chess club, but also direct USCF rated tournaments in Bellingham. Chess is one of those things that has become a part of my character.
Introduce yourself!
Hello, my name is Jeremy Roesch. I play lots of chess
Mostly on chess.com. I also coach the Blaine High School chess team. Looking forward to playing in some online tourney's and can't wait until we can all get together again.
Greetings. My name is Steve Szirom. Have been living in Bellingham since 1991 and playing chess since age seven...off-and-on but regularly since 2015 when I started the Bellingham Knights Chess Club (www.BellinghamChess.com). While the virus is among us, playing chess online is the only option but looking forward to the regular chess club gatherings and tournaments. The other day I was having a pizza dinner with Gary Kasparov. The problem was that the we had a checkered table cloth and it took him two hours to pass the salt.
Yo. I am Johnathon Dennis. I am a junior in high school, for now, and am first board on the Sehome chess team. I like joining tournaments whenever I can, and since the in-person tournaments have been running scarce lately, I have been playing in more online tournaments.
My name's flynn, I just graduted with my AST degree at wcc and now go to WWU as a chemistry major. I started playing chess 2 years ago and have pretty much been playing/studying it pretty regularly since then. The only OTB experience I have is playing a few games at WWU's small chess club. I mostly play on chess.com and occasionally lichess.
My name is Neil. Recently moved to the northwest from southern California. I play mostly online now, but want to try to get back to play over the board. I teach 4th grade and run a chess club at the school I teach at in Marysville.
Hi All,
My name is Jeff, I've played chess for years including for clubs in England and in Bellingham. I play too much blitz now ;-) Looking forward to playing with you all.
I'm Aaron and I moved to Bellingham in March - I played tournaments back in the 90s, then took a long break - played a couple more tournaments in 2012-2013. At one point I was probably playing around 2150 but definitely not that strong anymore. Played someone in Elizabeth Park earlier this week and that was fun, and have been playing online here and over at lichess. Hit me up if you're in the area or want to play online!
Hey Everyone. My name is Tom. I live in Wedgewood, WA. I've been playing chess on and off since I was a kid. It's a really fun game. I play sometimes on Chess.com, but I haven't played in any tournaments. Looking forward to meeting people and to learning new things.
Hi, I'm Liam. I recently moved to the Stanwood area. I am on the Stanwood High School chess club, and am happy to be here.
Welcome OfficialShort and Tom! What are your guys' favorite openings to play?
I enjoy the kings gambit and birds opening. I started doing chess a few months ago, after a 5 year dry streak. Im excited to get back into it, and love the community so far!
Okay, first, this background, while I love it, and it looks like home, it is very hard to read.
I am Kevin.
I am a military retiree that considers himself a "Texan", but I have lived in the Lacey/Olympia/Tumwater for the last 16 years. (The first 6 of those were when I served at JBLM, before my retirement.)
While I still consider myself to be a "Texan", Washington is the first place that I have have thought of as "home".
