Intro Chess Experience rather ? ![]()
Introduce Yourself Here !
Hello, I´m a chesslover and just want to improve my skills.
My dream is to become a GM, although I`m aware that it´s not possible anymore in this life. LOL
I dont think So but It is another topic . So we should not start a heating debate Why you can get GM !! ![]()
Just enjoy the game and do correct training . No one can stop you .
This is not for Motivating , but a Truth . Magnus said if you start late then still you can Become GM but not World Champ for Obvious reasons but I request everyone not to start another topic on " age "
Thank you ![]()
I'm Tim. Began playing with my Granddaddy as a kid. Enjoyed playing it, ran an elementary school chess club 15 or so years ago. Started playing & studying again as a way to relax.
Hi, I'm Richi. I used to play once a month or so with my Grandad as a child. So learnt the rules and movements then, but after many years of regretting never attempting to play for a club I started playing slightly more seriously during march this year. I am 27 years old and have become something of a junkie.
I am Christine, i learned chess at a young age and do love it
before i joined chesskid and chess.com, i played with my brother OTB
i am 12
and right now my rating is not very amazing
Hi, I've had a bit more life experience than you all but I too love chess. Chess is an enjoyable way to relax and improving is fun. I learned to play chess in grade school back in 1951 and have played off and on over the years. I only got hooked by Chess.com about 6 years ago and play a lot but improve very little because my memory isn't too good any more.
Hi! I'm a beginner (more or less...) improving slowly. I had "no time for chess" but for some strange kind of reason chess interested me more than relaxing so finally I choosed to relax myself playing chess. I usually analyze my games trying to recreate some critical positions / plans, then I let Stockfish and Fritz annotate a bit, to understand things more.
Reading Complete Idiot's Guide to chess and guess waht? It's not for idiots, at all!
Reposted from my Chess.com profile homepage: "Played as a kid and then strictly at the coffee house, bar, and jailhouse level. Trying to become a serious tournament player, but starting out for fun with the coffee house type games."
As a postscript: I played a couple thousand games of ten minute blitz chess and that got me from being a 900 Blitz player up to 1200, but then my rating began to rollercoaster from 1000 to 1200. I went into a slump and began losing games with awful blunders. I enrolled in Chess University. I'm back in the 1050 range, but I can see my game is improved. In the rapid games I started, I still tend to make snap moves and I've blown some winning positions against more thoughtful players. I started playing blitz chess because I wanted to overcome my phobia of playing on the clock, but now I'm pretty addicted to it. I cut down a lot while taking the December 900 Level class. It was a worthwhile experience and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to get more serious about chess. I have become more serious about chess, but I still love just playing.
Hi all, I'm a first-year university student, studying business.
I discovered chess at my elementary school's chess club (back when I could actually defeat people my own age). Stopped playing until around two years ago, since then I've played on and off, almost entirely online blitz (1200's now, peaked around 1325) + rapid (1400's, peaked around 1500), though I've just recently tried my hand at online bullet (1300's).
I wish I had the time (college, man) and resources (chess clubs/tournaments near my home and my school are unfortunately few and far between) to obtain a USCF rating and play sanctioned events, but until that becomes feasible, online will do. My only goal is to see how strong of a player I can become. I feel I'm tactically and positionally pretty strong for my rating range, but I can't seem to convert winning or advantageous endgames...
I'm always down to play a match, regardless of rating, so by all means feel free to add/message me!
Hi, I'm Taris and love chess. I'm not as good as some of the people here but I love good challenge. Been playing from a very young age and I love the game. I don't think I'll ever be a chess champion but I'm sure chess.com will help me become an expert at the game I love.
Hi, I'm Jullan, 17 years old. I've learned chess from my dad when i was around the age of 10-12. But because of school work and sports I haven't been playing a lot and I just recently when back to playing chess. Within couple of weeks my rating before was 940, but now currently my rating in chess.com is 1101. Even though I don't have or even been in a chess club, I quickly learned different opening and tactics and beat my dad, and several people. But I want to improve into a more advance level and become better.
