Introduce yourself!

Hi all!

First of all: a very warm welcome to our group Amicizie Senzafine (Endless Friendships)!

I think it's a good idea to have everyone briefly introduce him/herself here.

I'll start here:

My name is Simone.
I'm born on July 7th, 1992, so I'm 20 years old.
I'm from a very small village in the Netherlands, near the border with Germany. I speak Dutch, German, and English.

I study musicology, and outside my college, I love to play chess, I play guitar, piano; I love to read, write, make fun, hang out on the streets with friends until far past midnight.

I only play chess online; don't like to commit myself to something I love to do, because I'm mortally afraid that I will stop liking it.

Hello, my name is Sara, I'm 22 years old and study cultural heritage conservation. I live in Florence and Trieste. I like art, music, tennis, walking, and of course playing chess. I learned to play when I was 6 years old, thanks to the patience of my grandfather, who gave me the passion for chess and I always play with the purpose to honor my teacher.

     My name is John von der Lieth. I live in Charleston, SC, USA, which is the city where I was born 1/10/1951, making me 61. I have many interest, and numerous skills which I use to live.

     Presently, I am working as a Math Tutor at The Citadel Military College of South Carolina. I have in the past worked with graphite and Prismacolor colored pencils to produce drawings such as the one you may see as my avatar here on chess.com. I have also done carpenrtry and plaster restoration on some old Charleston Pre-Civil War mansions.

     Among my other interest, besides chess, are dancing, reading( novels and math/science: Astonomy, Cosmology, Quantum Physics),  scrabble, shooting pool, poker,and numerous other card or boarrd games. I am a huge music enthusiast, but my favorites are still the great rock 'n' roll groups of the 1960's-70's-80's: Led Zeppelin, Ten Years After, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall(Blues), Super Tramp,  and many more, with Led Zeppelin being the greatest all-around rock'n'roll /blues group of all time in my book!

     And, for those of you old enough to appreciate this, I was actually present at The(Original) Woodstock Pop Festival, 1969! At the time, I was living and hanging out with many of Charleston's artists and musicians, cultivating a rather Bohemian hippie lifestyle.

     Now, I am here on chess.com trying to cultivate friendly online acquaintances, and play a good game of chess with as many people here as I can.
