I'm a software engineer whose been working with computers since high school and decades of industry experience. I've done contracting, but mostly full-time corporate work.  Most of my software development over the past 15 years has been in a formal peer-reviewed context where committees review the design, coding, bug fixing, and QA department helps flesh out bugs.  I've worked as an escalation engineer as well (dealing with red hot bugs for various products).

Designed and implemented various applications, real time programs, kernel work, performance optimization, device drivers, web apps, client/server code, systems programing, front-end, back-end, designed some digital electronics things on the hobbying level, embedded system, done some work with CNC (building devices, as well as machining parts).

Been through a lot of programming languages, some of them obsolete (that I won't mention).  I know C, Objective-C, Java, do some ruby, work with the DOM, 2d graphics, iPhone/iPad and Mac OS X development, as well as some Win32 programming, MySQL, javascript, JQuery, light XML, a little PHP, assembly language, HTML, XHTML, AJAX, and some stuff I haven't thought of now.
