If nobody wants to introduce him/herself I continue with myself - perhaps I gonna write a whole autobigraphy at the end
First some CHESS
I don't remember when I learned how to play chess, maybe I was born with that knowledge, and I'm a reincarnation of Morphy
but I don't think so
My grandfather was an excellent player. He never learned theory, he was just talented with sharp logic. By the way he wasn't a grandmaster, only a railroadworker
He died when I was 9, so he couldn't teach me a lot. I remember I learned from him the student's mate (you know the mate in 4 moves - pawn, bishop, queen, queen). I played a lot with my father and later with my friends, but never studied theory until I joined chess.com. I was far worse player than my grandfather - I can describe it the rating among 900-1000. Now I learned a lot, but I'm still hectic and unpatient. I move a bit too adventorous with high risks .
Let's talk about the GUITAR
My father, who was young in the 60's founded a beatband (as anybody else did that time). They were quite poor, so they fabricated the instruments for themselfs. Dad was a student that time in polytechnic so he had the skills to create a guitar. He copied a Gibson Firebird, which he have seen on a picture in the hands of Brian Jones
It was not a perfect guitar of course, but worked well. They gaind no success at all, so the band split up. I remember as a kid dad playing guitar for himself, and I went to him and started to stroke the strings.
the years passed, I turned to be 15 or something, I liked music like Beatles, Rolling Stones, Cream so on (an obvious influence of my father) but didn't learned to play the guitar. Perhaps beacause I'm left handed, my dad is right handed, and I always try to hold the guitar upside down.
Once I arrived from school, switched on the TV (that time there was only 2 channels in Hungary) and on Ch2 there was a braodcas from the parliament, and in the break, the TV showed a Deep Purle concert. I was spellbound when Ritchie Blackmore started to play An die Freude (ode to joy) from Beethoven's 9th symphony (now I found it on youtube)
I was so amazed, I wanted to learn it - and I did. It was hard to learn the right handed guitar, but I decided to be a rockstar. I bought a Jolana - a cheap but horrible guitar
But combined with a fuc*ing loud homemade ampilfier and an overdrive I could play loud and terribly bad music. I was raised up in a village and the villagers had to live with it . They were not so proud and happy of their wannabe guitar hero. Once the priest came to me and asked me not to play during the mass. I formed lots of bands with my schoolmates. But at the end of the 90's I gave up.
I sold my guitar (that time I had a Hohner Les Paul.)
I founded family insted of a rockband, but I always had an itch to play guitar so 3 years ago my wife bought me a Johnson acoustic as a birthday present. In january this year I bought a stratcaster replica just not to bother the family and the neighbours with the loud acoustic, i play it unplugged or earphones on.
Hello, here everyone can introduce him/herself
I start with myself
Basicly I'm a journalist, graphic designer and photographer. I work for the Budapest Public Transport company's magazine and sometimes for Magyar Narancs (this is an weekly paper in Hungary). I'm married, I have a son Soma. Of course I'm playing guitar :) (in an other topic you can see what kind of guitars I like and have). I also play a little bit bluesharp and didgeridoo. Now I'm trainig myself in the slide guitar technique.
I like blues, jazz and rock music, basicly any kind of music which i find interesting, inspiring and relevative
