Ok people, I think we should introduce ourselfs. You may gues my name...

I live in México. Zapopan, wich a city located in the state of Jalisco (remember Tequila and Mariachis? well, all from Jalisco)

What do I do for a living?, This may come as a surprise, but actually I am a Neurosurgeon, or a Brainsurgeon if you prefer. So, yes, I'm a Physician. I also have a Master of Science degree (in Immunology) and currently I'm working on getting my PhD. (But don't even dare calling me a Nerd Yell)

About chess, I've been playing since I was 6 or 7. I started playing seriously when I was in 8th grade. In the 11th grade I became my hometown champion. Then I stoped playing for a while, went to Medical School. I played a few tournaments while there, but never won any. Then I went to do my residency in Neurosurgery, and I couldn't play anymore for a while. Once I finished I decided to go back and get my Master of Science degree and later my PhD. I started playing again about a month ago. Had to grease uo those old gears to put the machine in motion, but I'm regaining my confdence and remembering all of those lessons.

So, I've been on and off the game for about 32 years now. Once I was even a member of USCF (rated and everything), but that was over 20 years ago. I'm starting fresh.

I accept challenges, but if I don't I'm probably just to busy doing surgery on somebody's brain, so don't take it personal.

Okay, thanks for telling us!

I am Brendan, I live in Connecticut, United States, and I'm quite young (11Laughing). I am still (obviously) a student.

I started playing chess about a year ago. I've rapidly improved and my USCF rating is about 1200 (though I've only done 1 tournament, doin' my 2nd in 2 days!).

ps to mariogabriel tequila is nice but not drinking it with other liquid and only in shots.it does bad hangovers! Is it true that the real tequila has a worm inside that you have to swallow?thats grose

Avatar of MarioGabriel

Pikipokos: Tequila doesn't give a hangover! You have to drink it slowly, enjoy the flavor, let it slide down easy down your throath. If you drink it in shots, you'll get drunk very fast and you'll throw up, and that's no fun at all. Also, tequila is not the one with the worm, that's called Mezcal, and the worm grows in the plant from where Mezcal is made of (Maguey); it is called "Gusano de Maguey" or "Maguey Worm". It's only decorative, some people do eat it, but most don't. Tequila and Mezcal are made in the same manner, but Tequila is made from a plant called "Tequilana weber" or "Blue Agave". Both Maguey and Tequilana weber belong to the same family: Agave. The thing with Tequila is that it can only be made in special areas that hold what's called "Origin denomination", that is where the plant grows and has special characteristics, like the sugar content. Outside those areas, even if they use "Blue Agave" they can not call it Tequila, they have to call it Mezcal.

It's the same situation with Cognac and Brandy. They are the same, but Cognac can only be made in France.
