nothing, lol!
iPhone app rumour mill

Here's what I've heard:
- There's donations you can send in to chess.com via the iPod, and if you have donated more than your opponent, you will have a "Resign your opponent" feature after a certain number of moves. I'm not great with these formulas, so I don't know exactly how it works, but I know it has something to the difference between your donation and your opponent's donation.
- Every Tuesday, the player with the highest rating must play erik with only pawns and checkmate him, or else forfeit all of his points to the staff.
- There will be cutscenes whenever a piece is captured. For example, a pawn capturing a rook would show an infant lighting a castle afire. (I guess they made pawns appear as infants of unspecified gender because they can become knights, bishops, or queens?)
I know there were more, but I can't seem to remember the rest. Can someone fill me in?

I hear that the "computer opponent" is actually just another person out there who also thinks they are playing vs. an engine. (Apparently, it was a way to save effort on coding or licensing costs or something.)
I hear there's a cheat code you can enter that will force your opponents to stick to lines that correspond with your conditional moves. (But this only works for Diamond members, I've been told.)
That's what I hear!
That's right... rumour with a "u" (two of 'em).
- I hear that the new chess.com app is going to use the iPhone's accelerometer in a unique implementation of the resignation feature. You just hold the device in your hand as normal, but then sharply flick your wrist. When your opponent next views the game, the board will flip in his or her direction and he or she will be virtually showered with pieces. That's what I hear.
- I hear that there are Easter Eggs in the app that are triggered by certain openings - for instance, you hear the plaintive call of a northern hermit thrush whenever someone plays Bird's Opening.. and if you play the Bongcloud Defence, the pieces get all hazy and blurry for some reason. That's what I hear.
- I hear that the iPhone version of Tactics Trainer will have an exclusive "Hint!" button not available in the web interface. Apparently, however, the hints that iPhone TT offers are total bullshit roughly half the time. That's what I hear.
So.. what have *U* heard??
