oooooooh pawn takes queen. The black and white pieces were swapped. Tricky puzzle. I saw it when I saw that the kings were on the D-file

this position can't be reached from initial. Each pawn should take 2 times to be behind the opposite pawn. But only one take is presented on the board (black f pawn). So we can assume that only board is swapped and pawn can't take the queen

You're right. But, even though the board is flipped, the notation would be same. And it's a custom game. I havent said the position is legal! 😅

just cuz it's not possible doesn't mean that it isn't a fun puzzle. Some of the most famous puzzles are from impossible positions.
