Irmo Chess Club FAQ 

Greetings and welcome to the Irmo Chess Club. This guide is a quick reference to everything you need to know about the Irmo Chess Club. 

Who: Anyone interested in chess. We have active members with a wide range of experience - from beginners to experienced tournament players - and in a wide range of ages - from elementary aged chess enthusiasts to retired, life-long chess enthusiasts. We love to play chess, talk about chess, and teach and learn chess. 

When and Where: We meet in person at FireFly Toys and Games on Thursdays from 5p until ... There is usually chess until around 9p. The store closes at midnight.

Cost: At this time, there is no cost to come out and play - there are no dues involved. On occasion we hold tournaments. Participation in USCF sanctioned tournaments require USCF membership and also require a nominal participation fee - usually $5. Many of our members belong to the United States Chess Federation (USCF). USCF membership information can be found at USChess.org. 

What to bring: Boards, chess pieces, and clocks are almost always available. 

Membership: Being a member of the Irmo Chess Club is coming out and playing. There is a FaceBook site you can join. We also have a club presence on Chess.com. Information to reach these are:
