Is it good to bring extinct animals back?

It might be cool, but I'm a bit dubious on the project. It's only a matter of time until we make Jurassic Park into a documentary.

I'd say no and cite the law -- the law of unintended consequences. Tasmanian tigers would overrun the Earth, passenger pigeons would go all Alfred Hitchcock on us, we'd accidentally bring back a flesh-eating bacteria, or something...

We can't even keep the normal elephants from the brink of extinction.

In a word: no.
