Is it just me or are people mostly only playing the same few 4-player chess variants?

I remember in late 2019 and throughout at least most of 2020, I was able to come across more queues for variants other than standard FFA or chaturaji like diamond wall antichess, gustav's box, king safety, etc. I came back to chess.com this February after taking a break in September 2024 and since coming back, each time I click on the lobby for 4 player chess, the 4 player chess games available are (in my experience) overwhelmingly standard FFA (with the games only varying in time controls), followed up by chaturaji and (if I'm lucky) standard giveaway and war for throne (not throne mini). If there is a queue for a variant other than standard FFA, let alone a variant other than standard giveaway, chaturaji, and war for throne, that doesn't have like 2-3 ppl already in it, it takes way too long to fill up. I tried a few times to host a variant other than the aforementioned such as Gustav's box and nobody joined.

Honestly I have to agree with this because from the start when I started playing four way chess its like the only fun way for me to play chess as a result sure I mostly only play the same few 4 player chess variants.

i try to host the more i can these variants:

960 fog of war

960 capture the king

960 fog of war giveaway

some games with other different random starting positions not possible with normal 960

i have a club with rankings of players results, as these are only casual not rated now

TEAMS will die because chess.com refuses to put new people in an arena until they know what they are doing. thousands of people left and more will as well. the losses are unbearable at this point. we work so god dam hard for rating and lose it to OUR PARTNER making one move and resigning. it happened 5 times this week. 300 points down and counting. I HOPE IT DOES DIE. CHESS.COM DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE HERE ANY MORE. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY.

people are tired of losing for no reason in Teams. and others using second screens. new people start a TEAM game, make one move and resign or disconnect. for years this has gone on. this die off could be the one and deservedly so.
