is there a way to exclude cheaters so I never have to play them again?

I was just cheated out of points and it's sickening. Can I exclude cheating players?

I wasn't quick enough to stop-chat and one player - topofvip - said "let's team up blue" (or w/e color the asshole was) with the player across from him - aspirine85. I never want to play them again.

obviously it's highly unlikely they'll be across from each other and I'm against them but those guys should be banned.

EyeKnows

never-mind...I just figured it out and have excluded the cheaters aspirine85 and topofvip.

EyeKnows

I advise anyone reading this that plays FFA to exclude topofvip - he is definitely a cheater. I would exclude (and have) aspirine85 too but he might have just taken advantage of the situation and isn't a cheater but just a terrible person. If someone said that to me I would have attacked him to punish him for trying to cheat. But he want the points pretty badly  so at best he's just a lowlife POS.

turdmeister

How are you excluding them?

EyeKnows

click "Settings" (lower left corner - the symbol that looks like a gear/cog), and then click "Blocking".

turdmeister

And it works? In earlier times, it seemed that 4p chess was not consulting our blocked-player lists.

One guy blocks whoever he loses to. I once beat him in teams and he said in the chat that he would block me. I don't want to mention names, so I'll keep him anonymous.

It's probably best to avoid naming and shaming. Use the report system if you have a serious complaint about a player.

EyeKnows

In what way is it "probably best"? It's a service to the community so others can avoid having to be cheated by him/them. If it was a frivolous incident I could see your point but it isn't. topofvip is a cheater and people that play FFA need to know it.

agnsu

The site has a zero tolerance policy on cheating, if you file a complaint against them and your claims are found to be legitimate then they'll be banned. Smearing their names in a public forum is not called for or useful. Is it a public service to let us know that someone is either a cheater or just a terrible person? No, and you're not in a position to make that judgement either.

EyeKnows

Yes I am in the position to judge - I was there, I saw what happened. There is no confusion about what happened and I described to the community exactly what happened.

You need to look up the word "smear" My post about these guys is not smearing by any meaning of the word. It's not smearing if it is the truth. And ironically, you smeared me by calling what I did smearing. You made a false accusation about me by implying I lied about what happened. It is probably best for you to not make false accusations about me.

agnsu

Saying that someone is a terrible person is not a statement of fact. It's a subjective value judgement that I do not think you should have made. I'm unwilling to continue this conversation any further, take my advice or leave it, it's not my concern.

EyeKnows

I agree that is my opinion. But I didn't say he was a terrible person. I said he was either a cheater (for cheating) or a terrible person (for taking advantage of the situation like he did).  And he did take advantage - he left pieces hanging that he never would have if he didn't know the cheater was going to allow it. I stand by that statement/opinion.

And I was being pretty nice about this with him but it really isn't "off" to say he cheated too.

Don't know why you took up this battle. Surely you have more needy damsels to white-knight for. These guys can fight their own battle if they care to defend their actions. Your cause/concern is weird.

EyeKnows

lol @ sharp teeth and claws. I know what FFA is about, I've played a lotta games. you don't hear me complaining about getting wiped-out if I'm weak - I understand how that happens. that isn't what happened.

they played as a team and players that haven't ever played the team game have no idea how to do it. two players attacking you in FFA is different than two guys playing as a team. in FFA you don't leave your pieces hanging for your "team-mate".

and if two players are teaming and the other two aren't they have absolutely zero chance. and I have no idea if my "team-mate" even knew what was happening. the two games are completely different games. within about 10 moves I was mated. and another 10 moves the other guy was mated also.

so, no, I shouldn't feel lucky I was cheated by those players.
