Have anyone made any experiments with it? This could explain some random sudden clock change. Yet I am feeling that premoves take ages for me, and most of the time when my clock or my opponents clock finishes, the game ends (so there is no compensation, only the 3-3 mins).
Tbh I hate lag compensation, as there is the obvious cheat that we slow down our ping packets and act as we had a huge ping, but doesn't slow down our move packets, so we gain time.
Martin Stahl claiming here https://www.chess.com/forum/view/site-feedback/lag-between-premoves that premoves shouldn't take time (actually I think they use a minimum of 0.1 s, but in theory they shouldn't use more(?)).
The Support writes up to 2 seconds here https://support.chess.com/article/423-why-did-the-clock-times-suddenly-change-the-clocks-seem-broken and if i understand correctly it states up to 1 second here https://support.chess.com/article/213-how-do-i-fix-my-disconnect-lag-issues .
