With 4PC getting more and more popular we should be able to get at least the basics (ratings etc.) with API calls. Is there something like this in place?

There is no 4 Player Chess API.
In the future, we plan to display 4PC and (most popular) Variants ratings in Stats and Profiles. But not anytime soon.
