Iskubadayb: We just finished a successful olympiad and were having our final team meeting before we leave for home when Campo suddenly popped the dreaded question! "Who wants to stay behind and play?" I've heard the stories of the other masters who embarked on such a campaign and most of it were bad. No wonder everyone was looking the other way after hearing Campo's invitation. Well, except me. I jumped up with hands raised and excitedly yelled, "I'll stay!". (Campo was probably thinking "brave lad" and my teammates "stupid kid")
A couple of weeks later, I was at a Grand Station in Milan... cold, hungry and broke. I could've been in Manila... warm and happy, spending christmas and new year with friends and family. Finally, I got into the train that will take me to Luzern, Switzerland and meet up with Pocamps.
I did not eat anything the whole day except for the beer and sandwich that I grabbed earlier. The sandwich was bad so I got rid of it after a couple of bites. Pretty much, I just had that beer and I was beginning to feel the effect. I was starting to feel nauseous. I didn't know if it was just the beer or because we were traveling at high speed on the mountain passes but I was getting quite dizzy. I stood up looking for the toilet when I spotted a conductor's station. Luckily, it was unlocked. I went in and hurriedly opened the window. The burst of cold, alpine air hit my face. It felt really good... almost divine. And then, it happened. Right there, somewhere along the Italian Alps and the Swiss Alps, I spewed my insides out! Vomit was flying all over. I enjoyed the moment for a little while until I began to feel really cold. I cleaned myself up and tried to look normal before I came out of the booth. I learned a lesson that I've known all along---beer is not good on an empty stomach. As I came out of the door, a bar attendant bumped into me and asked. "Anything from the bar, Signore?" SO, I did just what any regular tourist would do. I said, "Beer, per favore. Grazie!"
Iskubadayb: - I hope you were still able to play well afterwards!>A couple of weeks later, a powerful blizzard hit Europe and it suffered the worst winter in two decades! All tournaments were canceled and I was lucky enough to get home in one piece. It was the first sign that chess may not be for me, I thought.

One of our colleagues was making a lot of money from the puzzle boys along Kalaw. They took it all back at knifepoint. hehe

Oo nga kelangan ingat sa ganyan dahil hanapbuhay nila yan!
I remember winning a lot in a puzzle stand near SM North Edsa a long time ago. I let the guy earn some profit first and when nobody can answer it, that's when I pounce. SO, he did not feel bad at all. In fact, he was friendly to me and we talked for a bit after a while. I ended up telling him who I was ( I said, I'm Iskuba Dayb ) and he was happy. I gave him a few puzzles the next day and he was ecstatic.
ay mali pala merun pala kf5 hehe
