It's not that there aren't rules - it's that no one follows them

Hello! This is my first post here, but anyways. Moving on. 

If you've been in this club recently, you'll have noticed a rising amount of accounts trying to self promote with forum posts with titles such as, "Send Me Friend Request", "Pls Subscribe to my yt", "Join this club!!" and, "Please follow me!!!". This has become a larger problem as of late. So, you may find yourself asking, "Well, good job. You've identified the problem. Gold star for you. Now how do we fix it?" and I propose we introduce stricter rules and larger consequences for repeated self-promotion. Although there are already rules regarding spam and advertising, I feel there are not enforced adequately, as a quick look at the club forums will show you. Perhaps this club could always use a few more active admins? Not to say that the current admins don't do a good job, it's just that I feel like a couple more admins who are on this club regularly could help with the advertising problem.

On a side note, in the about tab of this club, the two links that are supposed to go the homepage of Chess University both do not work. The first goes to "chessvl" and the second goes nowhere. Thought this should be known!

Well, Chess University is the best club to advertise because of all the people there, but please don't count me as spam as I only advertise one every two weeks. :/

And only more importantly JOIN MY CLUB! NOW! OR I WIL DIE! NO!!!!!!!!!! YOU DID NOT JOIN MY CLUB!!!! I WILL DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! XD

But the thing is, Chess University isn't a place for advertising whatever you want to advertise (at least I don't think it is). There are places to do that, but not here.

Literally the exact opposite effect I wanted this thread to have.

...which is exactly why harsher consequences should be put in place! People look at the others who are advertising without side effects and think that they can too.

Luckily, I didn’t see any opportunityto advertise a club. Excluding the fact that I have a club with only 2 members. Me and one other person.

ur right @alienkiid.I am pretty quiet in this club due to so much follow me etc.,and am in this club only due to the amount of vast Vote Chess games which I enjoy so much....Admins are more then they can mute such ppl who spam

Look, I asked a admin in chess university if advertising is allowed and they said yes. I can also show you proof.

Self promotion is allowed, but spamming it every day, now that is what is not allowed.
