That is always the trick! I spent so long not really playing and just studying books which I think was a big issues for me! Now I am not spending too much time in books. I'd say 50% playing and 50% analyzing my own game and no real-time in books anymore except for endgame books.

Love the +0 for blitz; I hope that means you aren't playing blitz. I have recently jumped on the blitz is evil bandwagon.

done with 11 weeks and i am losing pieces like never before thinking to far ahead and missing the in-between move and playing as bad as when i started will be having 2 tournaments that i did not win a game on my last week of my 12 week study play so back to the drawing board. and more study time. thanks for the books and lessons I enjoyed winning a few games that i thought i did not have a chance to so studying helps just have to get faster at thinking old slow and steady will be me.

don't want to post a disaster this week and next with all the last place finishes i did that last few days hope to bring it up after work this week will play some tournaments.

Getting better is super hard. I tend to have period of playing "badly" and then eventually I have a breakthrough.
You can see here when I started studying hard again, my rating initially tanked but then eventually surged quite a bit higher than I started:

Echoing what JD said, hang in there! I peaked just before Thanksgiving, then dropped almost 100 points into early January. A month later and I'm almost 100 points higher than Thanksgiving peak.
There is definitely an assimilation period with new knowledge and lapsing into fundamental forgetfulness. My coach told me yesterday that he has students that are 1700-1800 that still make development mistakes. Not as often, but they make them. Chess is hard and progress is not linear.

thanks for the encouragement And i am happy to make almost 1200 but wow it is hard to keep it. 1 or 2 bad tournaments sure kills the ratings

my 12 weeks are done i reached my goals but just not quite good enough to stay above them my goals were 1200 in USCF and Chess.com blitz and rapid. also wanted to play blitz and some daily to get rated thought i would be better at both.

Quick 1233 got it back up after a bad week hope to stay above 1200 now.
Regular 974 still provisional hope to get better here just not may tournaments that i see.
Thank you all that helped out on my study plan & good luck to all that are doing it. Have fun it is just a game!

That is great to hear!
Are you going to start a new study plan? or take a break. I typically just keep going right into the next plan myself. I basically pretend its a lifetime plan instead of a 12 week plan.
thanks for the encouragement, i am learning so much in the books just have to learn how to apply it.
