Knight Guide for Beginners.
2 diagonal rule
The safest square for your king is 2 squares diagonally to the knight.
Same colour square rule
If your king and piece are on the same colour squares as the knight, there is a good chance you will be forked. This is because of the nature of the knight which moves to the opposite colour square every turn.
Additional Info
There are some moderate safe positions for your king compared to your knight, where two hops will gives a check. Sometimes it is impossible for you to use the 2 diagonal rule so compromises must be made.
Lets use knights fork now!
Knight forks are seldom seen in raij. There are almost no pieces to do that. 24-3-12=9 pieces
I feel like forks in Raji are one of the most important endgame ideas
I only ever do pawn forks
Knights can be tricky pieces to calculate and its easy to run into forks or checks.
At the beginning of the game, a knight can jump over pawns, becoming active very quickly. When unrestricted a knight can jump to a maximum of 8 squares as shown by the pic below.
