Krishna's earthly pastimes were largely spent in Vrindavana, where He spent HIs youth as a cowherd boy. The eternal Vrindavana (also called Goloka or Krishnaloka) is where people who are devoted to Krishna go when they die and they become one of the Lord's associates there. The cows are called surhabi cows and all the trees are desire trees. Krishna gives so much pleasure to His family and associates that they're not even aware that they are in the presence of the Lord. Krishna is the fullness of the Godhead, and He always appears as a boy or young man even though He is the original being in the universe. The universe is like the rays of the sun that shine from his personal form.
Krishna, because He is the friend of all living entities, instructed Arjuna in the science of true religion on the Battlefield of Kurukshetra, and that instruction has been handed down in the form of the Bhagavad-Gita.
