LCML SEASON 2

RULES OF PLAY
(ed.II  15-1-2022)

  1. LCML Season 2 is run in two parallel tournaments (Div. A and Div. B), according to the average number of live matches played by teams in recent times and their past history in LCML tournaments.  Both divisions will be played as a round robin tournament. Pairings of each turn ("Day") of the tournament are published by the Tournament Director (TD) on the web page of the Day and announced on the home page of the LCML.
  2. As soon as pairings are published, team captains must contact the captain of the opponent team and negotiate the date/time of their match. The date of the match must be set within the deadline. Derogation to this rule can only be asked by captains upon valid motivation.
  3. Captains shall launch the challenge as soon as possible (*). When the challenge is accepted, the captain who launched the challenge shall post a note on the page of the Day with the link to the match.
  4. Matches shall be named as “LCML S2 Rn Team A vs Team B” where n is the number of the Round (1 for the first round, 2 for the second, etc.); time control shall be 10+5 (10|5), that means 10 minutes per game + 5 seconds per move; all other parameters (game type, rating, players per group) must be left at their default values.
  5. If a team does not respond to the challenge, the captain of the other team shall inform the Tournament Director before the deadline. The Tournament Director will try and contact the captain of the missing team to have explanations. In case of no response in due time, the active team will win the match by forfeit, getting 1 match point and full game points. If no claim is issued and the match is not launched at the deadline, both teams will loose the match by forfeit (0 match points, 0 game points for both teams).
  6. Games are played over an unlimited number of chessboards. At the start of the match, both teams must have registered at least 7 players in Div.A and at least 3 players in Div.B. If a team registered a number of players less than the minimum required, that team gets 0 match points. If both teams registered less than the minimum required, both teams get 0 match points.
  7. If one of the teams registered less players than the minimum required, then the other team will get 3 game points for any board where the opponent is missing, up to the minimum required. If both teams registered less than the minimum required, then the team with more players will get 3 game points for any board where the opponent is missing.
  8. If the match starts with less than 7 boards (in Div.A) or less than 3 boards (in Div.B), due to the fact that a single team registered less players, the team that registered a regular number of players shall provide evidence of this fact. The easiest way to do so, is to take a screenshot of the list of registerd players few minutes before the game starts. No derogation to this rule is possible. Failing to provide evidence of the number of registered players can cause the application of rule 6 also to the team that registered a regular number of players.
  9. Standings are made considering, in order: 1) match points; 2) board points; 3) difference between won games and lost games; 4) buchholz score.
  10. A team that does NOT respond to two challenges in a row (“missing team”) is cancelled from the tournament. In the standings, its match points and game points are set to 0, while all points gained or lost by other teams in matches versus the missing team are confirmed.

It is not clear from the first comment here that teams need to register below.

Also it would be best to provide examples on how rules 6-8 will work in practice (much as examples provided prior to start of Season 1) - because even for me it is not 100% clear about each specific case how result will be counted happy.png

Srbija Tm will participate for sure in Season 2, good luck! draw.png
