Left vs Right Shadow Projection

I am by no means educated in the matter of politics, but here is an interesting theory I have that is inspired by Carl Jung, and his idea of our "Shadow Side", or in other words a part of we want to hide and represses. In some causes we can project it on other people, and this got me thinking.

Could Republicans have a part of themselves, deep in their subconscious they don't like, (feeling fruity,  inner deviancy of any kind, realizing they may fall for the slippery slope fallacy)--Then they take their shadow side, and project it onto Democrats into fear that Democrats are pushing past safe limits of open mindedness, pushing past safe limits in policy, and using strawman arguments in this case to measure.

Now we will talk about Democrats "Shadow Side"

Could Democrats have a certain part of their subconscious they fear about themselves (inner bigotry, inner racism, inner intolerance, inner fear that change is dangerous) -- Then they take their shadow side and project it onto Republicans, saying Republicans are intolerant, racist, and fear change.

Does the Left battle a part of themselves they fear, and put it onto the Right, and use the Right as a target

Does the Right battle of part of themselves they fear, and put it onto the Left, and use the Left as a target.

Forgive me for my lack of understanding in Politics, this is not my strong area

Republicans most definitely preach FEAR as part of their politics. I think it's more like Boundary Maintenance Theory (which Erickson used to explain the Salem Witch Trials) than anything Jungian but why they fear drag queens and such is more complicated and maybe relates.

Is shadow projection healthy at all? Can it lead to any positive outcomes/resolutions?

Projecting your shadow on others is mostly subconscious. 95% of thoughts and actions are subconscious while only 5% you are actually conscious of. People who are more self aware tend to realize more of the parts of themselves they want to hide from consciousness of the 5%. People who tend to explore potential scenarios, and realize possible evil from within themselves, tend to want to give more compassion toward other people, as they recognize the importance of a growth mindset. Someone who is selfish is short sighted, and does not understand the long term impact of their actions
