Less Known e4 Openings for white?

I recently studied a lot for white against the major black defenses (Sicilian, French, Caro-Kann, etc.) and against e5 chose to play the King's Gambit but I realized that I may not always want to play such a risky opening, especially in classical games, and the only other thing I play are the Réti and English, and once in a while I want to mix it up. Are there any lesser known e4 white openings that are very good! Thanks!

I would say Vienna, but that's no longer the case sadge

Batman2508

Vienna is certianly the way to go

cricket7890

Yeah Vienna is played by literally so many people.

cricket7890

Vienna is not

DasBurner

Try the Ruy Lopez with 5. d4

The thing about e4 e5 is if you want to be principled, you basically have two knight moves and a bishop move so yeah. It's not like d4 where you can fianchetto (the Catalan) or push a flank pawn.

Maybe you could try the Ponziani? (1. e4 e5 2. c3)

cricket7890

I mean I guess the Bishop's Opening is also an alternative

That's the Macleod the Ponziani is 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. c3, but anyways I will consider that.

I'll probably try both the Vienna and Bishop's Opening in blitz

The Italian Knight Attack or Giuco Piano Centre Attack is very nice.

1. d4 is apparently less known even with more than a million master games played with it -_-

Ok I think I've decided, I will go with the Bishop's Opening, were white will often play f4.
