Let's have a game

Ok guys, so here we go, hope this great initiative will work, as I had really hard time finding opponents for slow games. Here we can advertise ourselves for games, our availability, what time controls we'd like to play and so on.

I'm from Italy so I'm +1 from greenwich, I like to play many different time controls, from 15 to 1:30 for a game, would like to play in this period especially 45 minutes chess becouse I've got a big national team tournament with my school in some time(It'll be near VENICE WOW). I'll be here fo long games mostly on sundays and saturday's when I don't have a tournament and occasionally during week

maxamilion, so I can ask you to be friend to see if I meet you on live chess? please do it too in order to have games everytime, specify it in the friend request and give me your handle's in other sites as well if you play live in others

The differing time zones can be a problem in scheduling games, but the problem can often be avoided on weekends.  In my own case I can frequently work around time differences because I am retired and often available for play on weekdays too.  I live in California, minus eight from Greenwich, meaning that I could play on many days beginning around noon in my time zone.

When I issue an open invitation to play live chess I specify a game time of 90 or 120 minutes.  My games have never lasted over 50 minutes total time, but we can forget about the clock when we each have 90 or 120 to play with.  That solves the problem of having an opponent down a queen and a bishop and beating his head in when I suddenly get timed out.

I like the idea of a post-game discussion or a joint analysis.  Since we have Skype available, it only makes sense for us to use it for the purpose of improving our chess where this is possible.  There isn't any real point in belonging to a group of friends unless we are going to spend a little bit of time benefitting each other.  Why not strengthen the whole group if we can?

I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on these and other issues.

Hi everyone.

I'm also retired and am available week days and can fit around time zones. I think the Skype idea is great. Beside G60, I've also been playing 20+20 (which seems to attract more opponents than G40 although it's essentially the same) and I was thinking of 30+30. I'm also keen on playing unrated sparring games to test out opening ideas if anyone is interested.  Please feel free to add me as a friend and I can let you have Skype and email details.

As there is some changes in this post I thought I might as well make a new one

I live in Ireland so it's GMT time, preferably I'd like to play G/60 or longer, but I might play some faster games as well. As for my availability it would be best to contact me through sending me a message on chess.com, or through MSN (message me for details), I'm not using skype a lot but it might change if it's gonna be our group's preferred way to arrange games. Anyway add me to your friend's list and I'll surely find some time to play soon.
