You start out by learning the basics & how to find your way around your environment/board. Then you have to enter an arena of other minds & come out yourself & interact. Whether you feel ready or not. Its on!!
You get beaten, you make mistakes! You get too caught up in your own plans & miss what else is going on and it can cost you!
But as you grow you start to take less damage from others and start to hold your own as they try to bring the hammer down! What dont kill ya?!
You become stronger and more successful through actually playing the damn game instead of just thinking about it! Taking all the shots and spitting em back.
Then as you start to get good & start to feel on top of your game. Someone comes along & knocks you off your perch! Reminding you to stop taking it all too seriously! There is no final state of mastery. No matter how much you thought you had it all sussed out! It does us well to be humbled
So enjoying the ride, and remembering, its just a ride! Seems to be the point, and the meaning of life/chess!!!!
