You are right. This is from the Giuoco Piano opening and you didn't need an explanation but OK!

I agree: before exposing the pawn it's better to centralize the knight.
I made up this experiment myself but idk how to make analysis for it since I'm not a scientist or expert at chess.
Just say what you would play in this position as White in the comments, and feel free to help me know what I can analyse from people's decisions!
