Would anybody be interested in live vote chess, you'll have to check in on it but you can set the time to like 2 hours per a move, can also make plans for when people have enough free time do 10 minutes per a move, just thought it could be fun and wanted to see if others are interested

Sorry, I'm not interested in fast vote chess. I use Vote Chess primarily for gaining familiarity with openings and defenses I don't normally play. Like our last 2 games were with the Alekhine Defense & another in the Kings Gambit. I knew nothing about those before we tried them and I researched them a lot in the beginning of the game. That is how I learn. It takes time so having 3 day games is great for my purpose.

Yeah I knew it wouldn't be for everyone, but I thought it might be fun so figured I'd ask if others are interested

We typically start a couple of new Vote Chess games every month playing teams and clubs from around the world. We start one playing the white pieces and the other playing black. The games are all Daily Games with a 3-day time control. The idea is for our club members to discuss the moves we want to make as a team and then vote to select the one we will play. For example, if we were playing white and were starting a new game I might ask “does anyone have any openings they want to try?” and then several people will respond and we would either agree on an approach we all want to use and vote for that one, or if we can't reach agreement we vote for the move we want and the move with most votes is chosen. We do that on a 3 day cycle and then wait for our opponent to respond with a move in 3 days. As you can see these games are slow motion and allow plenty of time for us to research and discuss openings, variations and tactics etc., as the game unfolds. We have participation from beginners to highly rated players. There is always something to learn or an opportunity for you to ask questions or make suggestions. Give it a try. You can join in on our latest game to see how they work.

To see all our current games go to Vote Chess under San Antonio Chess Club and you will see our current 4 games. The latest is the Christmas Tournament game vs the Fianchetto Chess Team in Poland. We are only on move 5 in this one so you can catch up quickly. We just played Bc4 and are now waiting for our opponents to complete their move. They have 19 hours to complete their vote. Once they play we will have 3 days to discuss how we want to respond and to complete our own vote process. We try to hold off voting until only 24 hours is left on the clock to ensure everyone has time to discuss our next move before we vote. I personally like vote chess because it is a way to try out new openings I might not play in my own games. This way I can gain familiarity in case I ever do have to face them or maybe I’ll discover one I really like. Join in. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

The message string you responded to was initiated about live vote chess. We never did anything with that but the regular 3 day vote chess is alive and well.
