Dear Mason,
Hi, it's Chiwon and thank you again for the great coach session(Sunday, Aug. 27th) before.
I have been playing 5 min Blitz games, following your suggestion, to deal with my time problem and I think it's helped me greatly in making faster and better moves. Now I mostly play 5 min blitz games. Of course I lose almost every time even though my games' opponent rating setting is set to not exceed +100 of my own and I still make blunder moves when I run out of time but I get the feeling I am winning some games from time to time.
Questions;
(I am not sure if the link works or the attached picture shows, but) Above is the 5min Blitz game I played just this morning(I play Black) and while studying it afterwards, computer says I missed a M3 here(move 31. Be3) and stupidly blundered my rook while trying to escape the bishop's attack. It took me a long time to figure out how the M3 worked in this situation. I made similar blunders like missing on M1, M2, M3 opportunities on several games, sometimes multiple times on a single game.
How can I get better at noticing and utilizing these chance (I say "chance" because I don't make these moves knowing that it is M1, M2, M3s) opportunities better if I ever get the chance in the future? Should I study making these chance opportunities or should I just stay focus on playing making less blunders?
