Of course I did not say space is discrete, I said a preon is discrete with its own length and time and 3 at right angles BUILD a space particle, spock. That is space. It is discrete space, a particle, just as a neutrino or electron, all need 3 preons. This space is not curved, so there needs to be a graviton. Now gravity is discrete, quantum, too. Loop gravity may mean a one dimensional string, but that string needs space and is curved, a preon, one dimensional isn't curved and needs no space. The space particle is a perfect cube with Planck's length and SITS in Zu. Spocks are NOT packed together. There is "normally" as much Zu around them as they are big when you look at everything from inside Zu. If you are inside the space particle, you only see our univerce. A photon or graviton going from spock to spock only sees inside the spock because Zu is NOT 3 dimensional, it's a 0 dimensional universe. "so why not open a discussion ?" I do hope that was a good openning !!!

Here is a presentation which contains some readable ideas. I found it because the author came up with the same analogy to chain mail that I did (I searched to see if anyone had).
My own thoughts on the real nature of space time is much closer to Smolin's, quoted in the same presentation:
“To understand what we mean when we say that space is discrete, we must put our minds completely into the relational way of thinking, and really try to see and feel the world around us as nothing but a network of evolving relationships. These relationships are not among things situated in space – they are among the events that make up the history of the world. The relationships define the space, not the other way around.” (Smolin, 96)
It is possible to imagine space time resulting from the the relationships in a Hilbert space of states, but I am not clever enough to make that precise!
